World Scholar's Cupは、英語によって教養を競う総合競技であるとともに、世界約40の国と地域の中高生との交流を通じ、国際理解を深める貴重な機会です。そのTokyo Roundにおいて、本校国際学級の生徒が好成績をおさめ、世界大会への出場権を得ました。
以下、参加生徒（中学生）のコメントを紹介します。
（高校生は追ってご紹介します。）
In the WSC Tokyo Round that we have attended, I think my English has improved considerably more than before. The event that I found particularly rewarding in this tournament was the Team Debate, and the event that I didn't do well in was the Scholar's Challenge. It was almost a memorisation problem, and there were some hooks, so I realised that I should have trained my reading skills a little more for the tournament. I got a silver medal, but many people had more than two at the award ceremony, and I thought I was still far away. I won't go to the global round, but it was a really good experience, so if I have the opportunity again, I would be glad to participate.

Competing in the Senior division as an 8th grader was definitely a challenge, but it made the Tokyo Round really exciting for me. Going up against older and more experienced scholars pushed me to think quicker and step up my game, and I actually enjoyed the pressure. It showed me how much I can grow when I’m in a tougher environment, and it made the whole experience really memorable.
For the Bangkok Global Round, I want to build on everything I learned in Tokyo and keep improving my debate and writing skills. Debate is my favorite event, so I really want to make my arguments clearer, more engaging, and more persuasive. Since I’m the final speaker on my team, I especially want my closing statement to leave a strong impact. To get better at that, I’m planning to read more advanced English articles and global news so I can use stronger examples and organize my points more effectively.
Two of my teammates won’t be joining the Global Round, so I’ll probably be teamed up with someone from other school—or even other country. I’m actually excited about that, because it’s a chance to see how I can adapt and work with new people in a completely different environment.
And since I’m the youngest person in my school’s history to compete in WSC, I want to carry that spirit of challenge with me and give everything I have in Bangkok.
日本語訳：中学2年生でシニア部門に出場するのは大きな挑戦でしたが、その分とても刺激的な大会になりました。年上で実力のある参加者と戦うことで、自分ももっと考えて、もっと力を出そうという気持ちになり、どの競技も本気で楽しめました。より高いレベルの環境に身を置くことで、成長できることを実感した大会でした。具体的な結果につきましては、ディベートとライティングは銀と金メダルを獲得し、個人総合(barely old senior )では17位・金メダルをとれたことから、scholars challenge でも結構良い点数をとれたと思っています。
グローバルラウンドでは、東京大会で得た経験をさらに深めて、ディベートとライティングの力をしっかり伸ばしていきたいと思っています。特にディベートは自分の一番好きな競技なので、もっと説得力のある話し方ができるように、構成をより分かりやすく、面白く組み立てたいです。
また、私はチームのファイナルスピーカーとして、最後のまとめで強いインパクトを残す役割があるので、結論部分をより力強く、印象に残るものにしたいと考えています。そのために、これからはより高度な英語の記事や国際ニュースを読み、例の質や構成力を高めていくつもりです。
さらに、グローバルラウンドではチームメンバーが2人変わり、他校や他国の参加者とチームを組みます。世界大会という新しい環境で、どこまで挑めるかとても楽しみですし、自分の力を試す良い機会だと思っています。
本校中学校からWSCのグローバルラウンドへ出場するのは私(たち)が初なので、挑戦する気持ちを忘れず、バンコクでも全力を尽くしてきます。（中２K.M.さん）
At the WSC Tokyo Round, I learned many new things and gained valuable experience, especially by meeting students from different schools and working together with my teammates.However, I do not think I did very well in the Scholar’s Challenge. Some of the questions were harder than I expected, and I realized that I still need to improve my knowledge and reading skills.
On the other hand, I tried my best in the debate , and I was happy to challenge myself in different areas. Overall, the WSC Tokyo Round was both challenging and enjoyable, and it became a very memorable experience for me. I hope I can improve and achieve better results in the future.
日本語訳：今回のWSC Tokyo Roundでは、たくさんのことを学びました。Scholar’s Challenge はあまりうまくできず、難しい問題も多く、もっと幅広い知識や読解力が必要だと感じました。少し悔しかったです。しかし、自分の課題を見つける良い経験になりました。
